Going Down

As many of you know, I have been going through a hard time the last month or so. But out of it has come my picking up the guitar again after over a year and writing a few songs. My last blog entry was one of those I wrote and here is a second one. This one is about what it feels like when I slip into these "down" periods of time. These times are very hard for me yet I know that ultimately they are necessary for getting myself back on track. This song is my version of what it feels like when this happens and the thoughts that go through my head.

Vocals: Me (Corey)
Guitar: Thomas (my brother)
Drum: Rainer (my husband)

We recorded this twice so I'm including both versions here...

First recording (note: it repeats automatically):

Second Recording (note: it repeats automatically):

I want to thank my good friends who have been the inspiration for my renewed desire to sing again. You know who you are, and you are the reason these songs came into being! Thank you!

I looooove your recordings and I envy you because I have sooo many songs that resemble yours and my husband is so stuck to metal and his fantasies, he never helps me recdrd any of my songs.. I always have to fins my own musicians and studio time and right now I can't afford it.

Your brother is an excellent guitar player, I love his style! :o)

You have a GREAT voice, Corey! You are all such skilled musicians :) I like the positive note in the music, the conviction that "I'll be back again some time" - so it's not as though you'll be "down there" forever. :)

Thank you to all of you!! I can't tell you how much your kind words mean to me! I have been lost these last few months and music is actually helping me to find my way back... perhaps because it helps me to say what I want to say through a new medium? Whatever it is, I am still a bit shaky with the whole thing (since it is so new and I'm not sure where it is taking me) but I know it is a good direction and I'm willing to take this music ride!
